So.  Many.  Chocobos.  And all shiny.

Priscilla and Danielle

Priscilla and Danielle

Priscilla (left) is not one to back down. She's not one to start fights either, now, but she'll hold her ground with chocobos three times her size. She's also been known to learn how to bark like a dog, which, while not encouraged, is rather too amazing to dissuade.

Danielle (right) is definitely a star gazer. Of course, she's also extremely easily distracted. By pretty much everything. Well, we all have those days. Weeks. Lives.

Penley and Perth

Penley and Perth

29 November 2011

Penley is the younger, smack in the middle of his awkward stage and feeling every moment of it. All he really needs is a reassuring word once in a while, though--he's much too bright a bird to let something keep him down for long.

Perth is, very frankly, built like a tank. In times of war he'd be on the front lines leading the charge; but luckily with these times of peace, you'll find him patrolling the chocobo pens and keeping them protected.

Payge and Una

Payge and Una

29 November 2011

Payge (left) doesn't seem to know that she's a... well, she. She plays in the dirt with all of the boys and refuses to sit still for preening just like the rest of them. So long as she's happy.

Una (right) is a little bit like everyone's mother. She's such a kind, sweet chocobo, liable to take care of absolutely everyone she comes across... including handlers. Well, they could do a lot worse than to have a chocobo mom.

Pablo and Ramone

Pablo and Ramone

Pablo (left) is quite the outgoing chocobo. If they had stand-up comedians (and they might, I do not pretend to know), he'd be one of the best.

Ramone (right) is Pablo's best friend, but he tends to prefer to stay out of the spotlight. After all, it's just a bit safer there.

Onyx

Onyx

I'm calling her my birthday present to myself this year: Onyx the crocheted chocobo. The better part of two days went into creating her, with touch-ups done on the third.

I love her. I absolutely adore her. She was certainly a "learning experience", as I did her entirely on the fly with no pattern, no direction, no anything but a totally insane thought and a crochet hook. ...And yarn. ...And later wire and glass beads, but you get the idea.

She is, in fact, very poseable! Her wings move and stay in place, she can tilt her head, look around, and even bend down without falling. Her legs are sturdy but capable of being posed as well (they have a decent range of movement whee they connect to her body).

Likes: sunshine, picnics, ultimate frisbee

Dislikes: color being compared to buttered pop corn, fish

She's got sass.

Niall and Edison

Niall and Edison

Niall (left) is quite possibly more fish than bird. He's been known to swim for some distances under the water, and whether or not he keeps spoiling his dinner with fish is debatable. He's not exactly talking.

Edison (right) is full of ideas. Hence his name, I'm pretty sure... unless that was simply fate. The point is, this chocobo is smart enough to build things. Mostly ways to trip up handlers into spilling food, but all inventors have to start somewhere.

Likes: "Rainbow Connection", being strange and mysterious, garlic bread

Dislikes: people trying to follow him around, broccoli

It is a mythical and elusive rainbow chocobo! ...He doesn't look all that mythical or elusive, though, does he?
