So.  Many.  Chocobos.  And all shiny.

Karsa and Kenyon

Karsa and Kenyon

29 November 2011

Karsa's the youngster, certainly a precocious bird. He's a natural-born leader and that might just get him into a few tough situations... but luckily he always knows who to keep at his side. It's easier to survive as a tightly-woven herd, after all.

Kenyon is perhaps known for being a father figure for just about any of the younger birds. He's not going to admit to it, of course, but he's the one teaching the more "interesting" life skills. How to open the gate latch, for instance... and how to create a diversion so the gate latch can be opened...

Kalika

Kalika

29 November 2011

Likes: cinnamon rolls, roaring fireplaces, molecular biology (who knew?)

Dislikes: dull things, Cheetos knock-offs

My camera and REALLY SHINY THINGS don't always get along. I'm glad everything seems to have worked out in this case... more or less. All of the seventy-four (oh yes, 74) Swarovski crystals in various shades of pink actually have a dramatic sparkle that I couldn't catch on the camera without blinding it completely, but you'd just have to see them in person.

Kaisai

Kaisai

29 November 2011

"Kaisai" is Japanese for "jubilation", and that's quite fitting. There's never a time when Kaisai isn't chipper and ready to bring a smile to someone's face. Sure that can make her personality a bit... overwhelming at times, but she has a big heart and is always willing to lend an ear.

Well. Certainly the most demanding chocobo I have ever encountered. Not only did she make the demand to have her own decorative armor, but to have bead accents as well. She encompasses well over a week of work, and that armor is surprisingly heavy. Of course she's worth it, just look at her! Utterly fabulous.

Yes, of course I made that armor. Link by link. Then embellished it with AB siam Swarovski crystals. For clearly that makes everything a million times more awesome. Kaisai herself is embellished with the same AB siam Swarovski crystals, and dozens of little tiny size 11 peacock-hued seed beads. Her body and beak are crocheted, legs are incredibly strong (read: annoying to work with) wire wrapped with yarn. She stands at about 8 inches high, and all of it fabulous.

Jamari and Leif

Jamari and Leif

29 November 2011

Jamari (left) is more than likely growing up to be a natural-born leader. At least, most of the other young chocobos would agree with the way that they follow her around. It's good, then, that she uses her power and influence for good... and the occasional "see if the handlers brought sugar cubes" raids. But you know, that doesn't happen too often.

Leif (right) has quite possibly taken nothing seriously over the whole of his life. That's not to say he's flippant about anything; it's only to say that he never lets a negative moment pass without making it positive. Quite a nice thing, that.

Ivy

Ivy

29 November 2011

Likes: summer days, the smell of the forest, digging for the sake of digging

Dislikes: getting bathed after digging, when the seasons turn cold

My camera will never capture that particular shade of dark green just right. Ah well. Ivy's pretty easy-going.

Holly

Holly

29 November 2011

Likes: crisp mornings, fresh snow, celebrations

Dislikes: "scrooges", people shaking presents

My camera will never capture that particular shade of dark green just right. Ah well. Green, red, holly!

Harvey

Harvey

29 November 2011

Likes: marshmallows, plush things, big soft patches of grass

Dislikes: loud noises, the term "wingdings"

Well, I don't know... he just looks like a Harvey.

Gavin and Guinevere

Gavin and Guinevere

29 November 2011

Gavin is the younger, and freely willing to indulge in it. Oh, he'll mind what he's told... he just likes to push the limits and respond with that big-eyed adorable look. Works every time.

Guinevere is definitely the "kindly mother-type". She tends to act that way with all ages of chocobos and handlers alike--meaning that if you mess with any of them, you will be in very deep trouble.
