Black Tiger Call Bracelet

Black Tiger Call Bracelet

It was bound to happen eventually. I'm more than happy to make these along with the standard double-sided or single-sided call bracelets, but this particular one pictured is mine. Ahem.

(If you are new to, or do not know about, the Tiger & Bunny fandom, then Black Tiger is kind of a non-canon fan creation. A very, very good one.)

Tron Lives Bracelet Set

Tron Lives Bracelet Set

(Also known as, "Way Too Damn Far for a Joke".)

Yes, I loved Tron: Legacy. But all it really did was remind me of how much I loved the original Tron... and the character. And no, dammit, this is not a spoiler. If I had to explain to you why this is not a spoiler, then it would be a spoiler. Don't sass me.

...Anyway. Design-wise, I decided to go for old-style text in new-style colors. Each individual bracelet is comprised of 1,372 tiny glass beads, each individually woven together, and one Swarovski button. For those of you paying attention, yes, there are 2,744 shiny glass beads and two Swarovski crystal buttons. Woven together with super-strong thread, by hand. When I say it took a week, I do mean seven days. And on the seventh day I declared myself to be a lost cause and a Tron fan. Rock on, programs.

Tron Pixel Bracelet

Tron Pixel Bracelet

In celebration of my favorite program. Mmm, obsessions renewed. This is a classic-style Tron insignia bracelet with a little bit of flair. What can I say, I'm all up for a little bit of sparkly geeky flair (obviously).

Great reason to try cube beads, yes? It was my first time with them, and... well, I do like them. They make for a nice look even when I didn't manage to catch all of the mildly deformed ones (though I imagine I'm the only human being in the world to notice all of the little nearly-microscopic gaps), but they don't drape and flow nearly as well as smooth, round delicas. They're still smooth to the touch and flexible, though, and it's always nice to work with something larger than delicas, even if just barely. Getting that double band piece to work, though... I don't even want to think about it. It'll be easier to do it again after the first time, but the amount of time and effort involved in just that detail was way beyond what I was prepared for when I ridiculously thought, "Hey, I want to make this different!" Add to that the fact that I had to remove a whole row of beads from the bottom portion just so it would drape better over a wrist... yeah, I don't want to think about it anymore. LET'S PRETEND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AND BE HAPPY.

As always, I make all of my beaded pieces by hand, bead by bead, with a needle and thread, no looms involved. Because I am completely, undeniably, stupidly insane.

Rinzler Pixel Bracelet

Rinzler Pixel Bracelet

Well, um. Well. I suppose I should have predicted this wandering completely out of control. More cube beads, and they're really not as consistent as I'd like them to be, so that took a little extra effort to get around. The panel itself went just fine. I started that little "window" portion as being completely open, and that seemed simple but interesting and worked well... but didn't let the bracelet lay against the skin very smoothly. It could have worked, sure, but I was not satisfied. So I stabilized it with a few lines. And a few extra beads along the interior. And it took so much longer than it should have, but here it is.

Red Rinzler Bracelet

Red Rinzler Bracelet

About halfway through the original Rinzler Pixel Bracelet, I knew I wanted to make one in red. And a little fancier. Ta-da, and so on. I really quite enjoy the result, and while it was easier to get together than the first one... it was also a lot more time-consuming. I am really quite concerned that my ability to do simple things may have been destroyed, choked to death by "Hm, what if I try this..."

Oh well, I still enjoy it. The fragile-looking parts are all triple-enforced so that they're fragile in look only, and of course that is a genuine Swarovski crystal square... thingie for the clasp. A neat square thingie.

Poison Mushroom Cuff

Poison Mushroom Cuff

I don't know how much time it took altogether, and I don't want to know. I love the poison mushroom... but I'm not sure that I loved it this much. Still, I did want to give white thread a try and... I can't really explain the rest of it. Insanity, as usual. And it's a corset cuff, meaning it can adjust to any wrist size with the spiffy little silk ribbon.

It was a real learning experience, though. There are some rough parts due to that, but overall it actually turned out much better than I expected. And, of course, it's SHINY! Got a lot of comments and pick ups at Anime Boston, but o one brought it home, alas.

Reversible Beast Wars Cuff

Reversible Beast Wars Cuff

I am aware, with some certainty, that this certifies my complete insanity. I don't care--as much as I adore G1 Transformers, Beast Wars was my show of choice. You may throw what you like at me, I care not--I have Scott McNeil!

Ahem, right. Well... damn. Two very large, very complicated panels, woven so that they rest back to back. So, it's completely reversible in case you're the Blackarachnia type. It's exceedingly versatile in the ways it can actually attach to a person's wrist. I only grabbed the ribbon because I discovered too late that I was out of the leather lacing I'd wanted to photograph it with. Of course, how it attached is all up to the buyer.

Dragon Maleficent

Dragon Maleficent

She was intended for a contest, but details of that got foiled in various ways, various times and... well, she's been sitting, waiting for her chance. The other day I walked in the room and noticed her and thought, "No. She needs the world to see her now. And maybe someone will really want to cherish her in the way she deserves."

I'm proud of her, besides. I always did love Maleficent, and despite how I have completely taken it upon myself to forget what a horrible experience her boss fight in Kingdom Hearts was, it was also one of those fun "two worlds meeting" things. Hence, awesome shininess!
