Poison Mushroom Cuff

Poison Mushroom Cuff

I don't know how much time it took altogether, and I don't want to know. I love the poison mushroom... but I'm not sure that I loved it this much. Still, I did want to give white thread a try and... I can't really explain the rest of it. Insanity, as usual. And it's a corset cuff, meaning it can adjust to any wrist size with the spiffy little silk ribbon.

It was a real learning experience, though. There are some rough parts due to that, but overall it actually turned out much better than I expected. And, of course, it's SHINY! Got a lot of comments and pick ups at Anime Boston, but o one brought it home, alas.

Let's Rock

Let's Rock

Dante from Devil May Cry, in bead form. 4,034 beads, to be precise, each added individually by hand using only a needle and thread (and a lot of ridiculousness). The panel itself measures roughly 9.5 inches tall by 5.5 inches across, so those are some tiny shiny beads. It's worth it for Dante.

Yes, this was completely dumb. Silly, even.  I also have no idea how long it took, and I'm grateful.

Gojyo and Hakkai Bracelet

Gojyo and Hakkai Bracelet

A creative and appreciated commission, and not just because it gave me a week off of a long-term project I'd been working on a little obsessively. The idea is a representation of the Saiyuki characters Sha Gojyo and Cho Hakkai, the commissioner coming up with the basic pattern/design and of course I had to complicate it for myself by making part of it open. Admittedly, I love how it turned out. It's a little more airy and "free" this way, I think--and the colors stand out beautifully. (And of course that is a Swarovski crystal. I mean, of course.)

Double Sided Mushroom Bracelet

Double Sided Mushroom Bracelet

So I had a silly little idea that I might make a simple little 1-Up mushroom bracelet. ...Plans changed, as they do. I'd been experimenting with double-sided bracelets and wanted to try to put a Poison mushroom on the back of this, because... I'm weird like that? It turned out better than I expected for the style I used, I think, and then I went and made that little "mushroom button" as a clasp. I think it looks like rough-hewn old pewter, but maybe it's more "gunmetal". Whatever, it works.

OrgLIX Cuff

OrgLIX Cuff

At last. I combined a beaded panel with a leather band and got a beaded cuff... while at the same time promoting my "little voice acting project", OrgLIX. It's either really sad or really brilliant but it took a really long time and a lot of work but I love it and I'm not selling it for it is mine. And I'm the only person I know with a wrist that skinny, so neener.

1,885 beads, by the way. That is how many were used to construct this single, tiny panel. I'm not sure I want to think about it much, either. But now I know what I'm capable of.

Nobody Bracelet

Nobody Bracelet

Well... I kinda didn't mean to make this. It was just a simple little pattern test that was going to get ripped apart at the end, after I made sure it would work and... it just kept going. Not that I'm complaining.

1,264 beads. Slightly larger than the delicas, so that was nice... but when I say slightly, I mean only very slightly. Still counts, though. And oh is it shiny, half the panels using plain silver-lined beads and the other half using silver-lined opal-effect beads. A little painful in direct light, but isn't that the price we pay for sparkly?

Heartless Bracelet

Heartless Bracelet

I thought... well, why not try the other pattern I'd been wanting to. It worked out quite nicely! Along with my new LCD flat screen monitor that makes editing pictures so, much much easier. Hopefully the different can be seen.

1,264 beads, again. Half the panels use plain silver-lined beads and the other half using silver-lined opal-effect beads, again. Somehow I just can't consider this boring, though.

Demyx's Sitar Cuff

Demyx's Sitar Cuff

You will click on the picture and you will appreciate this thing at full size. This is a do-over. I actually did this very design a long, long time ago when I was first curious about this "beading thing". I was proud at the time, sure, but the whole thing was such a mess. So, I finally did it over, simplifying the pattern just slightly, and I am completely happy with how it turned out. Whoot, I say. Whoot.

I love canon Demyx. And I adore OrgLIX Demyx. But there's a vicious little psychotic Demyx muse that will probably escape and commit acts of bad writing some day. Point being, I can't help but love that little rock star Nobody. Not to mention, his instrument amuses me for reasons that do not take too much imagination.

2,037 beads in total make up this cuff. I need to stop figuring the number of beads out, because it makes me cringe every time.
