Irwin Hexadecimal
Alright, okay, I'd been wanting a Hex for years and finally just. Looked. And bought. Luckily she's one of the figures easily available and reasonably priced even with a far better card. I suppose that may change depending on whether you're after the darker cape variant, but I saw one argument about whether those were on the original release or a later release and decided I didn't care.
How the hell did I manage to wait so long. It's surprisingly difficult to find the loose figure complete, so extremely damaged card but undamaged figure is fine.
And wow is the card warped. It'd be a shame if something were to hap--
Excellent.
Since the bubble was already coming off the card, it was one very light
tug away from being opened anyway. I'm guessing all of that
"venting" is why this might be the first figure in many years
that had absolutely no smell out of the package. Better
than "plastic death", anyway. Behold the emotions.
It's a very simple figure, sure, with very limited
movement. From the G.I. Joe figures I have, I can tell that the
joints have simply loosened a bit over time because properties of plastic differ,
but I love her regardless. She has a little bit of trouble
standing on her own because of the loose knee joints, and the
stand does... very little to help, because her cape acts like heavy fabric and
keeps swaying at the slightest little thing, but I will find a way
dammit.
Something something perfectly innocent, I'm
sure. ...Nah, she doesn't even pretend, that's why I love
her. While there are plenty of tiny details missing, I'm happy
about the face details and the claws.
Maskless. ...I am so, so tempted to see if I can't get a tiny LED light for this. For reasons.
Cape! And the back. And the very limited
arm poseability, but you know, that's fine. Can't really
see the--
Yes, good, thank you.
The "delete disk" is certainly a thing, and there's
a little plastic tab at the bottom I have to sand off, but give me a
little neon pink trinket and I will be grateful for it.
Overall, I do adore her, I think the toy itself was worth waiting for, and while I desperately wish there were an updated figure... well. "Unlikely" doesn't cover it, but it is incredibly nice to have her here.
